The Mady New Music Fest Barrie was awarded the Best Tourism Marketing Campaign at Tourism Barrie’s annual Toast To Tourism event, an award gala held on Thursday, November 15th, 2012 at the South Shore Centre.
This award certainly marks a very proud moment for our team,” commented festival director, Paul Fairley following his acceptance of the award. “It’s an absolute pleasure to be of service to the tourism industry in Barrie. Being recognized amid all the other fantastic events this city has to offer is a great honor.”
The 5th annual New Music Fest Barrie took place on July 19-22 featuring 70 live touring artists at 8 different venues including a Lakeshore Concert featuring Treble Charger, USS, illScarlett, Golden Gate Graves, and others.
Media, marketing, and funding partners being thanked in acceptance of this award include Rock 95, Kool FM, Barrie Advance, SNAP Barrie, Barrie.tv, KICX 106, OTMPC, Canadian Musician, Tourism Barrie, the Government of Ontario, and Downtown Barrie (BIA). Presenting festival sponsors included Labatt’s Budweiser and Rockstar Energy Drink.
“The Mady New Music Fest Barrie was honored last night at Tourism Barrie’s award ceremonies for their excellence in marketing the festival and promoting Barrie,” said Kathleen Trainor, executive director of Tourism Barrie. “Barrie has a long history of hosting outstanding music festivals and the Mady New Music Fest is one of our new up and coming summer festivals that draws thousands to Downtown Barrie for the four-day festival. I never miss a show, it is a great time with good music.”
Plans are currently underway for the 6th annual New Music Fest (2013), which is scheduled to make visits to Sudbury, Barrie, and London, ON.
