The third annual Budweiser New Music Fest Sudbury headliner concert is nearing a sell-out, taking place Saturday, June 7th at Grace Hartman Amphitheatre. The bill includes, Big Wreck (recently added), Monster Truck, The Glorious Sons, Gentlemen Husbands, Golden Gate Graves & local Sudbury group, Echoes the Lion.
New Music Fest organizers had to replace Theory of a Deadman with Big Wreck two days before the festival, following the announcement that singer Tyler Connolly of Theory of a Deadman has been battling complications due to laryngitis, leaving him unable to perform this Saturday, June 7th.
“We were absolutely stunned when we heard the news”, comments Paul Fairley, Festival Director. “We’ve dealt with a lot of hurdles in our experience, but never our co-headliner of a festival canceling last minute.”
Thankfully, festival organizers were able to step up to make sure they deliver their promise to produce a world-class music festival in the City of Greater Sudbury, even under such unfortunate circumstances.
In a further statement Fairley comments, “We were faced with an awkward decision of canceling the show while upsetting a lot of excited festival-goers, which isn’t what anyone wants. Thanks to Big Wreck, our team was able to save this year’s festival. We appreciate everyone’s understanding in the matter and are wishing Tyler of Theory, a very speedy recovery.”
